Sacramental Preparations

For Catholics, the Sacrament of Baptism is the first step in a lifelong journey of commitment and discipleship. Whether we are baptized as infants or adults, Baptism is the Church's way of celebrating and enacting the embrace of God. Please contact either St. Mary’s (983-3255) or St. Louis (294-5460) for more information on preparing for Baptism.

First Reconciliation

Reconciliation is a sacrament which heals and saves the baptized person from sin.  The Sacrament of Reconciliation forgives the sins of the baptized person committed after Baptism.  Most of St. Mary’s/St. Louis members receive their First Reconciliation when they are in the second grade.

First Communion

First Communion is considered one of the holiest and most important occasions in a Roman Catholic's life. It means that person has received the Sacrament of the Eucharist, the body and blood of Jesus Christ. Most of St. Mary’s/St. Louis members receive their First Communion when they're in the second grade.

Confirmation is a Catholic Sacrament of mature Christian commitment and a deepening of baptismal gifts. Like Baptism and Eucharist, it is a Sacrament of Initiation for Catholics and a Sacrament of faith in God's fidelity to us.

For Catholics, the Sacrament of Marriage, or Holy Matrimony, is a public sign that one gives oneself totally to this other person. If you are interested in preparing for marriage, please call St. Mary's (983-3255) or St. Louis (294-5460) at least 8 months prior to the wedding date.

Marriage Sponsor Couples

Members are needed to be willing to prepare the couple for this Sacrament and to work with the couple to capture the personal and mutual implications of this State of Life - Marriage - for the couple. If you are interested in becoming a sponsor couple, please call St. Mary’s (983-3255) or St. Louis (294-5460).

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (often abbreviated RCIA) is the process through which interested adults are gradually introduced to the Roman Catholic faith and way of life.  If you are interested in the RCIA program or know someone who like to attend classes, please call Rita Olson at 983-6564 or email
